Yigo Baptist Church Membership Covenant

Having received Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord and been baptized, and being in agreement with Yigo Baptist Church’s doctrinal statements, ministry philosophy and strategy, I believe the Holy Spirit is leading me to join with the Yigo Baptist Church church family, and make myself accountable to its members and leadership. I now commit myself before God and the other members to do the following as the Spirit enables….

I will strive to build and protect the unity of my church family

… by acting in love toward the other members (1 Peter 1:22)

… by lovingly and appropriately confronting sin in other members (Ephesians 4:25-27)

… by refusing to gossip (Ephesians 4:29)

… by submitting to and following church leadership (Hebrews 13:17).

I will serve the members and ministry of my church family

… by developing a private devotional and prayer life (John 15:4-8)

… by discovering, developing and using my gifts and talents (1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 27

… by allowing myself to be equipped for service (Ephesians 4:11-13)

… by developing a servant’s heart and Christian character (Philippians 2:3-4, 7).

I will contribute to the building up and growth of my church family

… by participating regularly and faithfully in corporate fellowship (Hebrews 10:25)

… by committing to formal and informal small group relationships (Acts 2:42)

… by living a growing, godly life (Philippians 1:27)

… by giving regularly and proportionately of my time, resources and finances (1 Corinthians 16:2, Romans 12:1).

I will share the responsibility for the outreach of my church family

… by praying for and supporting its growth and worldwide ministry. (Ephesians 6:18-19, Matthew 28:18-20)

… by inviting others to attend church services and small group meetings (Luke 14:23)
